이승익 디자이너의 개인전 《한글 꽃 피다: 디지털 크래프트 패션》은 한글의 조형미와 한국 전통문화의 미학을 현대 디지털 제작기술과 결합해 새로운 패션디자인의 가능성을 탐색하는 전시입니다.
작가는 길상적 의미를 담은 문자도와 한글 타이포그래피에서 영감을 받아 한글 ‘꽃’과 ‘길’의 형태와 상징성을 꽃의 이미지와 결합한 시각적 이야기로 발전시켰습니다. 작품에는 PolyJet 3D 프린팅과 기계 자수, 플로킹, 디지털 프린팅 등 다양한 디지털 크래프트 기법이 활용됩니다. 서로 다른 기술과 재료가 하나의 의상 안에서 결합하며 한글은 읽는 문자를 넘어 입체적인 표면과 촉각적 장식 그리고 신체에 착용되는 조형 언어로 확장됩니다.

Hangeul Blossom: Digital Craft Fashion
The exhibition 《Hangeul in Bloom: Digital Craft Fashion》 pioneers new frontiers in contemporary fashion design by seamlessly weaving the structural elegance of Hangeul and the poetic aesthetics of traditional Korean culture with cutting-edge digital fabrication technologies.
Designer Rick Lee draws inspiration from Korean Munjado pictorial characters that convey symbolic and auspicious meanings as well as from Hangul typography. He develops a visual narrative that combines the forms and symbolic meanings of the Hangul words kkot (꽃, “flower”) and gil (길, “path”) with floral imagery.
The featured works employ a sophisticated spectrum of digital craft techniques, including advanced PolyJet 3D printing, machine embroidery, flocking, and digital textile printing. By fusing disparate technologies and materials within a single garment, Hangeul transcends the boundaries of written language. It is masterfully expanded into tactile embellishments, three-dimensional surfaces, and a wearable, sculptural language.
The exhibition centers on the paradigm of Hybrid Digital Craft, representing a visionary convergence of heritage craftsmanship and digital manufacturing.
