전주 흑석골에서 한지공방을 운영하였던 1대 최종수 장인에 이어 아들 최성일 한지장이 2대째 가업을 이어오고 있다.
목재 펄프, 대나무 펄프, 아바카 등을 혼합한 특수한지를 개발하며, 서화지, 복원지, 사진 인화용 순지 등 다양한 용도에 맞는 한지를 생산한다.

'Within the flow of tradition and modernity'

Choi Sung-il continues the family business into its second generation, following in the footsteps of his father, first-generation Choi Jong-soo, who operated a Hanji workshop in Heukseokgol, Jeonju. They produce specialty Hanji produced by blending wood and bamboo pulp and abaca fiber into seohwaji(painting and calligraphy paper), restoration paper, and sunji(pure paper) for photographic printing.
